A reminder not to define yourself by your profession or occupation-you are so much more than what you do for work.

Don't fall into this trap: writing down who you are to others as though it is what you do. Don't fall for that. Don't fall for saying right next to your name on Instagram, LinkedIn, or even in introductions face-to-face, "What do you do?" as if it is who you are.

"Oh, my name is Jason. I'm a hairstylist."

No, you're not. You are Jason. That's it. You are Jason. There is no more to it.

If you want to add more: "I am Jason, the son of Michael and Jessica." Alright, yeah. Now we're talking. This is who you are. This is who you are.

You're not a hairstylist, even though you can maybe make money out of it. Maybe it's your profession, but it's not who you are.

Don't fall for this trap. Don't fall for this trap.

You Are Not What You Do
