Every big decision carries the possibility of failure and success. This one is about taking action anyway.

Listen to the podcast or read along:

Before taking a big action, we tend to think about the likelihood of success. Whether you want to sign up for something, pay a certain amount for something, start advertising, enroll in a course, or buy your first real estate property (and you guys know I love real estate), our mind tries to keep us safe.

The mind and body (for me, they're the same thing) want to preserve this physical form and make us live longer. But when we want to do something bigger, more challenging, or new, the voices start: "Maybe you shouldn't." "Maybe if you do, you're not going to use it." "It's not going to work." "Maybe you're going to fail."

And yeah, there is this likelihood of failing. There absolutely is.

But I am doing this because there is also a likelihood of succeeding. Maybe if I do that, my life will be changed forever, for the better. My life will transform.

Two Sides Always Exist

There are always two sides. The pain comes when we focus on only one side. The pain is when we focus on "there's no chance" or "there's a chance I'm going to fail," and then you don't do it. Because of course, if there's a chance you're going to fail, why should you do that?

The reason you should do that is because there is a chance you might make it. And this is exactly why you're doing it.

My advice to you, normal people who are afraid of doing new things (and we all are, this is normal behavior)β€”is this: when we come across this fear, say to yourself, "Yeah, but there is a chance I will succeed. There is a chance I will make it. And this is exactly why I'm doing that."

When you shift that focus, all of a sudden you have more energy. All of a sudden you have more likelihood of succeeding as well. It's all about the focus.

The Unknown Future

Because there are two possibilities. Of course, the future is unknown. There's another possibility that there's going to be a storm tomorrow and everything is going to be gone, or a nuclear war, or who knows what. Many things can happen. We don't know about the future.

But I am going to do that because there is a chance it will benefit me, benefit society, benefit someone. There is a chance. I can say this to myself every single day.

And you know what I'll discover in the end? That taking action while you're afraid-that's the most courageous act you can do. That's, in fact, the definition of courage.

My Story: Buying My First Property

Think about the time where you wanted to do something and you had so much doubt around it, and you did it anyway. I've got a story.

Buying my first property when I was 25 was not an easy task. Everybody told me not to do it. Everybody. My closest people told me not to do it because their minds and bodies also want to make my mind and body safe.

And I did it anyway.

You know, a few days before I purchased it, I almost backed out. But I did it anyway, and this is why I'm here today talking to you guys.

That deal went really well. But even if it wouldn't have, it would have been okay as well. Because I took action on something I believed in.

It's About the Act, Not Just the Outcome

It's not about the outcome as much as it's about the act. Because we all know we cannot have outcomes if we don't act. We all know that.

Coaching is about how you can be 100% when you act. How can you act in a way that will be transformative? This is what coaching is about.

Every single day, choose to focus on the possibility of success. That's where your energy lives. That's where your transformation begins.
