Being a leader right nowâwhat does leadership even mean right now? How can we lead when the future is so unknown? How can we guide people when everything is changing so fast, so rapidly?
I think the answer nowadays is related to letting your people create the systems they need for themselves. I think that's the answer. It's about giving others the ability, the freedom, the activation they need in order to create more.
Because if you look at the world we have today, the thing that is lackingâvery much indeedâthe thing that is lacking here is activation. Activity. Activity not in a passive way, in an active way. The word ""active,"" I feel like it's so missing, so missing.
We are no longer, as a society, in the driver's seat of our car. The AI drives us through. And when I say the AI, it's not just the AIâit's the algorithm of the social networks, it's other people's opinions, it's the matrix. The matrix just drives us through there. And we end our day without doing anything we wanted.
That's the situation you need to lead. You don't need to lead your company towards financial success. You need to lead your people, your employees, towards activation.
Because once they will be activated, with the same exact tools of the matrix, you can do everything. You can do anything. Once you understand the matrix, once you understand what is possible now, and you realize that all of this is a question of: What do you want to do? What do you want to build? That's the question. That's the most important question.
Once you realize this, and once your people will realize thisâwell, that happens through leadership. Because that will transform.
And this is exactly what I'm doing right now in Lisbon, where we're going to have a workshop. The goal is to activate the people that are coming so they can use AI in a meaningful way in their lives. That's the goal. This is what I want to happen in the world.
It's not about the AI. It's about the creativity. It's about creation as a value. To create as a value.
And I think now, a lot of people can create. People that never created before can create amazing, meaningful stuffâif they only know the tools, and also if they will only be inspired to do so.
So I think leadership right now, this is what we need to focus on. We need to focus on inspiring people to act. Inspiring people to turn them on. To turn them on. That's the most important thing right now.
Stop being on standby mode. Turn yourself on. Power on.
